Need help desperately!

1st, great site! I race an 85 celica gt, 22-RE, that I just built over the winter. Started off as an ice racer, but with the mild winter, is going to become a year round racer. My problem: At first, car runs great, is super fast down the straight and pulls hard out of the corners. After a few laps, however, car starts to sputter and won't rev. Acts the same way as when my truck had water in the gas last winter: ice would form in the filter while it set, and once it got going, would break up into small pieces of ice and clog my fuel line. (I have a fuel cell, so I know that there is no water in the tank.) We changed out the filter, and there was quite a bit of contamination in it, but that did not sure my problem. We are looking at wiring the fuel pump in a different manner (we spec'd it out before install - flow is more than plent), instead of off of the old wiring, bypassing everything and putting in a toggle switch. Any other ideas before I take it back out onto the track, as that is the only place it happens? (No place for testing.) Any other racers out there?
