22RE Clutch Problem

Hey gang i have a 91 Toyota Pickup with a 88 or 89 Toyota 22RE engine in it. The original engine blew a headgasket and the previous owner replaced the motor with either a 88 or 89 22RE. This is the first 22RE ive ever owned, so i do not know anything about it. Anyways, here is the problem i am having.
The truck sat for an extended amount of time, and when i went to go move it, i pushed in the clutch to start the truck, but the clutch wouldnt budge. I pushed a little harder and the clutch pedal "broke" free. Now for some reason, the truck will not go into any gear. The clutch pedal does not have the same resistance now. The clutch pedal will return back to its original position, but when you push on it, it feels as if the pedal is not travelling as far as it should, and the tranny wont go into any gear, whether the truck is running or not. I have no idea what the problem is. Can anyone add any insight? Thanks in advance.
Darril
