Re: Digital Cluster

Thanks Jon. I do remember hearing something about switching between the units to get a glimpse of the speed.
I heard that the early 80's Dodge Lasers had a switch on the back of there digital displays to allow the display of the higher speeds. The Supra digital cluster has a few small wires that come out from the back and terminate with a small plug. The plug then fits back into the back of the cluster. This seems really odd. Why didn't they just make the wiring internal w/o a plug. You know it had to frustrate the toyota engineers to limit the display of the cluster. I would have made some simple procedure for removing the limitation should the consumer be so inclined.
I will keep searching for a fix.
BTW I picked up a digital cluster on ebay for around $10. I haven't tried it out yet. I'm waiting for a replacement speedo cable.
