The best place to mount a fuel cell is right where the spare tire is kept. Lose the spare, throw in the cell, and add some strps to hold her in. For a little more support, we welded in some angle iron, just so she don't start rocking around. I'd only do this, however, if all yo9u plan on doing with your car is racing it on the strip. Running around town with a 6-8 gallon fuel celljust doesn't afford you a whole lot of distance between gas stations. And, if you like to do a little street racing now and again, the last thing you want is to run out of fuel, whether you're racing someone at the time, or just racing the cops. But anyhow, when you install the cell, you are going to want to add a piece of sheet metal behind the back seat (if its still there) to create a fire wall. Its just good common sense, and mandatory on any track when you run a cell. Also, if you are running a 22-RE, and don't want to drop the coin on a hi-po fuel pump, for about $40 you can purchase one for an 87 (I think - its right around that year) Ford Ranger. It is an external mounted pump that flows more than enough for the 22-RE.

As for my motor, it is bone stock, for now. The 85 is pushing around 30-40 hp more than my buddy's 79 20R that he races, and he is always right in the top 3, and was Points Champ a couple of years ago. So first I will get control of the car, then hop it up. Of course, I should get it to go around the track more than 4 or 5 laps, first. But thanks for the info, hope I was some help to you. I'll keep checking in periodically; keep up the good work.
