The real problem with carbs is "what do you plan to do with the car?" In many states it's illegal to go to a carb setup on a car that's stock with EFI. If your state is pretty lax about it's emmissions laws / doesn't do inspections, then I guess go for it. It can be a pain to tune multiple carbs, but if you're going to use it for racing, it can be a BIG improvement.
The same goes for the straight-pipe. They're VERY illegal in some states, unless the car is strictly an "off-road" machine. Check out your local laws again.
I'm curious about the 13 X 7 rims you're trying to use. Are you going for the "low-rider" look? It can be difficult to find good tires for 13-inch rims, other than the the skinny ones used on Geos, etc. Good luck with the mods!
