I have the entire MSD ignition system ready to go but I havent installed it yet. I want to get the car running again first.
The stock ignitor will work perfectly with the MSD box. But you will need to get the Tach Adapter. This little device (just a coil) is very important. Without it your tach wont work and the EFI system will go haywire. Because it won't 'feel' and response from the ignition system.
Quoted from the OCC Mailing List: ------------------------------ to make it work with the stock 22RE igniter you will probably need a tach adapter. A tach adapter is a small coil without a secondary side that fools your igniter into thinking it's still firing the stock coil so it gives the required feedback signal back to the ECU. Without a tach adapter, the stock igniter has no "load" anymore since it's only "firing" the MSD trigger input and nothing else. It won't run that way.

Hope this helps, Steve
