I was looking at a guy who was building up a 22-RTE for his 4x4.  He said that it was a must that you switch out the boards in the AFM when you're switching between the Celica and Supra AFM.  Apparently, the Celica ECU cannot read the Supra AFM due to type of signal coming out of the Supra AFM.  The Celica ECU is looking for a positive voltage reading whereas the Supra AFM puts out a negative voltage reading.  I don't suppose that the 22-RE AFM is different than the 22-RTE is it?
