A chat room is allot more complex than a message board or a upload program. Especialy considering that just about the only computer language I don't readaly use is Java.
It is possible but it will take a long time. Right now, the next web project I have planned is a classifieds section. There has been a lot of demand for this on the OCC list. So I expect a good deal of use (products listings! for sale and wanted). Once I get this up and running then I will see what I can do about a chat room.
Classifieds ETA: 1-3weeks
Chat Room ETA: 3-6weeks?
Maybe sooner maybe later.
BTW I never use outside programs. Every script I use is built be me. This way I can be assured true security and functionaliy. Not to mention I will never let an ad appear on this site (Classifieds asside :D).
