Yup you can rice it and then it would look stupid like you said but i dont know if i want to use them at all maybe as turn signals,i think they went for plastic because i cant think of a way of making all the diamond shapes inside the headlamp if it was an kind of metal,and they have the little bulbs in the bottom corner(reversible).
