Coil-over spring rate

Allo.
Been a LONG time since I've posted on any forums, I used to post on OCC as subhorse ( wierd name I know, long story, inside joke that stuck :P ).
In any case.., my profile is as follows. An 83 Celica GT-S liftback, stock powertrain save 2.5" exhaust and enlarged intake just to filter box.
Powertrain consists of a duel friction centerforce, slotted carrier bearing to make room for the 84 Supra K-frame, 7.5" diff (non-LSD) and rear disc ( have'nt switched the proportional valuve yet ).
Suspension in current trim is full dress polyurethane front and back, KYB shocks/strut cartridges and Eibach pro-kit springs. ( 1" drop F/R, Front carrying an initial spring rate of 232-lbs per inche, with a secondary rate of 372-lbs per inche. Rear carries an initial rate of 125-lbs per inche, with a secondary of 172-lbs per inche ).
I'm considering the Ground Control coil-over kit mated with either Tokico Premium Performance Strut Cartridges, or Koni adjustables.
My question would be regarding the coil-over kits coming with a choice of spring rate. I'm looking for suggestions or info regarding such settings. The Eibachs above are comfortable but I would surely prefer something quite a bit stiffer, this is a hobby car that is as current nothing but a street vehicle, but I'm looking for handling, not ride comfort.
I'd appreciate anyone whom could offer any advice, I've never worked with custom spring rates myself and do plan on in the future finding a spring set for the back to match the front, or possibly tackling the project of puting coil-overs in the rear as well.
