If your parking brake won't release, check the brake fluid. Top it off if your parking brake light always stays on. This fixed my cruise not working problem two times also. By filling up your brake fluid reservoir, you also get that pesky "BRAKE" light on your dash to finally go out as well. Hope this helps too.
