I suggest the same, I'd do engine mods. Your car looks just fine from the outside. Even though it may not be a head turner its better its not. If you give your celica balls, people will respect it more than making it look like something its not.

Do the full exhaust system, 2.5" pipes from the headers back. DO NOT MAKE IT SOUND LIKE A FART. or a lawn mower. make it deep and "big" sounding... rumbly...

and the open air filter will help looks, sound, and performance. as will the headers.
