I think he's refering to the little screw in  plastic valves (BVSV???) on the front of the intake manifold.  They screw into coolant passage where EFI coolant temp sensor and Cold Start Injector time switch is. There's two vacuum lines that hook to it. One goes to the charcoal canister and other to the throttle body. I don't know what these are for, but they prob monitor vacuum in that specific line since they are screwed into coolant passage.
