You should be able to use a equal 3.8 out of a FWD car. I believe the actual engines are the same. I would still be looking for the turbo.

F body transmissions are very common, but like you said the manuals are not. With an adapter plate (custom I am sure) you could mount the stock tranny. Well actualy you'd want the W58. This tranny can hold up to the 300hp just fine. And the rest of the drive train should be good as long as you have an F series diff with posi. However the posi will eat itself allot faster with 300+hp.
