the single row chains to offer better horsepower in comparison to the double row ones, and the chains themselves last nearly as long as the double row ones, but if you replace the chain you will want to replace the plastic guides with metal ones, you can get those from LC. over time the plastic ones would break apart and the chain would rub a groove in the front cover, eventually going into the water passage. this is of course bad.
