addendum

Toyota service manual says the celica alternator is rated at 55 to 60 amperes. read this as 660 to 720 watts. keep in mind this is PROBABLY a reccomended peak value, meaning that you may be able to get away with 800W, provided nothing else electrical is running, like say, gauges, ECU (go twin sidedraft!) or dash lighting.. obviously this is un-feasible. my question is: is it really 800W RMS? check the rating on the fuse that plugs into the side of the amplifier and get back to us.. my buddy bought a 300W amp only to find out that it produces 100W rms, or loads the alternator to about 10 amperes.
if people want, i can make you ALL savy on stereo power ratings, and the big load the marketing guys will feed you.
