Sudden drop in RPM

I been running my celica almost every day and a problem seem to comes and goes. Sometimes when I just slow down to down shift or plain stop a sudden drop of RPM occur more than normal . The Rpm will go almost to 300 and up again in a sequence of two. I suspect a problem with the coil or ignition system . Any insight will be appreciated.
And an update in the Power lock problem , is fix . The problem was the  lock control relay, it was located under the steering wheel all the way to the firewall. It seems that the contacts became corroded, a good cleaning and re-adjustment of the contact springs did the trick. I suggest to try that first since the price for a new replacemment is around 125.00.
