perhaps your ECU has a error and wont signal the injectors... have you even taken you injectors off to look at them and test them? maybe two got clogged or are broken... you never know.
One time on my AE86 my idel was around 3000 and i couldnt get it any lower... everything seems and looked just right... then i one day looked into my TB and found a piece of wire harnes tape stuck on the TB plate holding it open just barly enough to bump the idel up.
So anything can happen... and to me it sounds like a fuel injector issue.
