That doesnt sound too bad, what trim level is it? if its an ST its too much... a GT try and talk em to 1700-1800, but if its the covetted GTS 2000 is ok... make sure the hatch isnt rusted totally to hell, and that the timing chain doesnt have too much play... id explain how to do that, but i cant remember the exact way and im too lazy to look it up lol. btw, 83 would have a 22R/22R-E, so its a 2400 CC motor.
