Re: There are fake lc engines out there!!

Hey dude, first off, dont think you can piss anyone off here... we're all nice people.. second: ive got a 4A-LC motor in my 84 corolla 5dr (the ultimate family wagon). ive done some looking around and have seen repeatedly that the "4A" means im running the 1597cc block, the "L" means "Lean burn head" (i imagine this means the head can take extra heat generated by a leaned out mix) and the "C" character means "cali. emissions package" (ie, EGR.. buncha vac hoses that piss me off, etc.) the question i pose to you is: why in the world would anyone WANT to pretend their 4a-gzte (monster!) is a 70 horsepower family car motor? could you go into a little more detail as to how my genuine 70HP LC makes me better than the ricers who only want to have an LC?
and not to be a bible thumper, but i doubt that anyone has a 4a-anything motor in their celica/supra. more on this to come though... -Bryan
