I've just rescued a '83 toyota celica GT from a friend in work who was going to junk it. The car is not in that bad of shape, some rust but nothing really bad, I think the worst is around the back hatch window. So instead of junking it, he GAVE it to me. Yes I got it for nothing, just had to pick it up and get it home. The car hadn't been started in 6 years. Well I got it home put some fresh gas into it with some injection cleaner and gas treatment plus a new battery. It started on the first try. I was impressed. I now need to modify it. So as money comes available mods will go in. This is going to be a 1/4 mile killer, that street legal of course. What I want to do first are the brakes and suspension (needs lowering about an inch or so). The rotors are rusted and so are the calibers probably could be sanded or something though. But if I'm going to replace them I want to go right to the performance stuff. But I can't seem to find a complete brake kit for this. Maybe you can help? Plus I thought I read here or on a link off of here that you could lower the car by cutting the stock springs, is this true or not reccomended. Oh I have another question for you, Steve, how much hp and torgue do you think will come from your turbo recipe, the reason I ask is that's the route I'm taking turbo w/NOS. Estimated cost would also be helpful. Or any engine kits that would do the same. The engine in my celica is a 22RE. Sorry I got long winded I was on a roll. Great site keep up the great work and I'm sure we'll talk some more. By the way I'm located in Marietta PA.
