Good start. Read my brakes and suspension articles. You will want to swap the rear end from an LSD equpeed supra or rear disc corolla.

There really isn't much in the way of bigger or better calipers out there. There was a front big brake kit being developed by someone from the supra list. I don't know if it is still being offered. The celica brakes are killer though. Especialy if you swap to 4-wheel disc! The rotors are big enough and ventiated. The calerpers are also big enough. So all you really need are minor brake mods. SS brake lines, performace rotors and pads. Flush it with some good brake fluid and the car will really stop. Even the drum setups work well.

True. Kinda not recommended. Cutting a coil will lower the car. But the trade off is that the spring wasn't designed to work with a coil less. There is an increased possibility of bottoming out... hard. But I haven't heard any complaints from anyone who has cut their springs. Indeed I have been thinking of it myself.

If everything is done right and lots of money is droped, then you can get some major ponney-power from a 22R. GaryM is running 350+HP with an LC hybrid turbo, 8 or 8.5:1 forged pistons, forged rods, and too many other mods to list. No NOS. All of this is street legal.

If the motor is complete race then you can get 400-500HP from a turbo 22RE. Massive work. And completly useless on the street.

I'm sure if everything was built right then you could pull a 70-100HP shot of nitrous without problems. Forged pistons and rods would be a VERY good idea.

To change a standard 22RE into a turbo... ~$2000 for all good new parts. To make it a turbo beast... considerably more. $5000 - $15000. Depends on how far out you go.

You can buy a 22RTE setup for a celica from LC Engineering.
