   Just wanted to put a final comment on this thread.  I took the old cat off and it was fine, so I may just be expecting too much out of an engine that has 214K miles.  BTW, I have a brand new cat I bought that I will sell for a reasonable price - it costs me $150, willing to sell at a much lower price if anyone needs one.
