check engine light?

from time to time when i am going about 80-90 on the freeway my check engine light will flash a few times and then go away. I also happens sometimes when i down shift. It does not stay on so I cannot get a reading for the problem. could it be a O2 sensor or something or could it be the afm. I have an 84' supra afm and straight pipe on it. if anyone know could you help me out.
