82 GTS was simply a visual upgrade. flares, supra rims and seats, but that was about it. It still had a carbed 22RE and solid rear axle, it also didn't have a GT-S badge, it was a "sport packaged" GT.
83 brought in the 22RE and supra Independent rear suspension, but still badged as a GT.
84 brought in a face change and the GT-S badge, not much else changed. the 85 GT-S was available with 3.90's instead of the 3.42's (rear end gears) that all the previous third gen celicas used.
