HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!!!!

Ok problem. Might be big, might be nothing. But last night I went out with some of my friends to see a movie. And I had to run to my car to grab my wallet. Everything a ok so far. But upon returning I noticed that the headlights on my 87 Celica ST were on. BUt the car was off and the headlights were in the down position. I opened my car clicked them up and then back down. Yet they stayed on. Couldn't find the problem. So I turned them halfway and the lights turned off. BUt not less than a half hour later, they turned back on and now my battery is completely dead and wont start. The actually headlights that raised and lowered were fine, but the lights just wouldnt turn off. What would cause this. Can someone please give me some advice on what to do. This car is my way to school and pretty much everywhere. I need it, so please someone help. Any advice, so long as it is productive, would be much respected.
