84 gt-s doesnt start sometimes

sometimes my 84 gt-s doesnt start and if i leave it alone and not try to start for fifteen minutes to a half an hour it will start right up. whats the deal? i was thinking it could be the fuel relay swith but im not sure. if anybody knows anything that could help me please reply soon its mind boggling!
