engine swap

I have an 85 GTS and i love it to death but it is just a little too underpowered so im looking to do an engine swap (already have a B16A in my CRX).  I was wondering what engine would maintain reliability give decent power 150hp-whatever and not cost too much money.  I just want to keep it a manual transmission and not add too much weight therfore...
1uz-fe auto tranny only computer wont run well with a manual
supra 7m-gte, good but heavy. 1jz hard to get parts at times being a jdm only engine not to mention converting the wiring harness. 2jz, well can i borrow 6-8 thousand dollars from you?
how about the V6's 3vz or the newer 5vz which can take a TRD SC but again the 5vz only came as a manual in the t100 so its a little hard to find a good one at a decent price.
my latest thought is that our celicas are powered by the old 4 banger truck engines, why not just slip in one of the newer 4 cylinder taco engines? the 3rz has 150hp according to toysport.com and 177 torque they are newer, reliable and not too expensive from what i've seen and best of all they will accept a TRD supercharger. what are your thoughts? has anybody swapped a different engine into their celica? ohhh and i have 2 spoilers that wrap all the way around the rear window but dont cover it and i wouldnt mind parting with them for a couple bucks(im in reno NV) sorry no shipping.
