85 head onna 83 block..?

ok.. got a head from an 85 for my 83. here's the pix...
someone said it would work. but previous posts said it wouldn't.
also if you I did try to use that 85 head on my 83 block..
wouldn't the compression be way off and since the intake ports don't match wouldn't that mess up the air/fuel mixture..?
