First off I would suggest getting a Haynes manual for your car. They have a walk through for both a minor tune up and major tune up.
I am not very familiar with the 89 celica engine. But I can tell you the major points of a tune up. Replacing spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Setting the valve lash. Setting the timing. Adjusting the idle speed (if applicable), adjusting the air fuel mixture (if applicable). Since you have fuel injection I would suggest running a bottle of a good fuel system cleaner through.
For the rest I would suggest the manual.
