manual transmission swap, complete part list
« on: Dec 25, 2011, 06:59:11 pm »
just completed mine a few weeks back, thought id post everything you'd need in one place

5 speed w58 transmission out of a 82-85 celica (complete with 2xr bell housing, clutch fork, t/o bearing etc..)
shifter
top 2 manual trans bolts (automatic are too long)
clutch (if new, should come with new t/o bearing, pilot bearing and clutch alignment tool)
flywheel
flywheel/flexplate bolts (found that they are the same, still got arps though)
5 speed front half of the driveshaft
master cylinder
slave cylinder
clutch line (hard line/custom made line)  direct fit http://www.phase2motortrend.com/cispautomacl.html
auto/manual trans cross member (they are the same)
clutch pedal
clutch pedal support bracket or custom support bracket/bolts
manual car brake pedal
backing plate between motor and trans (auto backing plate works the same)
transmission supports that bolt to the motor from auto or manual trans, auto does work with the w58
cut out about an inch of the top of the shifter hole

i think thats it, if anything else post n ill add

some of my pics

sachs clutch

hope this helps anyone!

the holes were already there on my 85 GT they had little rubber grommets you pop out for the master cylinder bolt holes.

edit: are you talking about the clutch pedal mount?

With mine (even though its an 81) I had to drill out the bracket, that the pedal bolts to, off the 76 and I still need bolt it on the 81 for extra support.
Celica. Impossible is nothing.
