What is the wheel bolt pattern on my Celica?

4:114.3 (4x4.5") bolt circle. The stock GTS (7") wheel offset is 8mm.

It is very difficult to find wheels with this low offset design now. Most wheels are designed for high offset FWD cars. Few manufactures continue to produce wheels for this application.

Centerline still offers wheels that should fit a GTS. If you have the money you can get wheels custom designed in any style you want specifically for your car. Another options is hub spacers/adapters. These will allow you to fit a modern wheel on a Celica. Might be a strain on the hubs/bolts/axels. Not recommended for sever use.

Why does my 82-83 GT-S only have GT badges?

I honestly don't know. For some reason Toyota neglected to install GT-S emblems on the 1982 and 83 Celica's. If your 82/83 Celica has fender flares then is almost certainly a Celica GT-S. The 84-85 Celica GT-S had GT-S insignia.

Where is the fuel filter on my 22RE?

The fuel filter on the stock 22RE is located under the intake manifold, mounted to the block. This is an impossible place to reach with arms and wrenchs, so I suggest moving the fuel filter.

See: How-To: Relocate Fuel Filter.

What headers can I get for my 76-85 22R Celica?

There are several aftermarket naturally aspirated headers available. The two best are made by Doug Thorley and LC Engineering. The Doug Thorley header is a Tri-Y pattern. This is probably the best header for a street Celica. The LC Engineering header is a 4-into-1 style. This is a good header but may be better suited to a high revving race 2xR engine. I have heard to stay away from PaceSetter.

You can also get headers custom made.

Are there any turbo headers for a 22RTE Celica?

Only one that I know of; LC Engineering. They charge an arm and a leg for it but it is a very good header.

If you are thinking of installing a 22R-TE truck header, don't bother. They wont fit.

You can also get headers custom made.

What Doug Thorley header fits on my Celica?

The Doug Thorley 502Y will fit in any 22R/RE Celica. Officially they say the header is for 76-81 Celica's. But is has been proven to fit 82-85 Celica's on multiple occasions.

Will a stock 22R-TE (Turbo) Bolt into my Celica?

No. The stock 22R-TE engines were only available in trucks after 1985. The turbo header/downpipe will not fit in a Celica's engine bay. Aside from the exhaust system the rest should bolt in. Remember the 22RTEs had a TCCS ECU. You can get a Celica turbo header from LC Engineering, but they are VERY expensive. Another option would be a custom header and downpipe.

Will an 82-86 Supra diff bolt into my 82-85 GT-S?

It depends, if your Celica was equipped with an F (7.5") series differential from the factory then, yes, it will swap right in. However most Celica's came with the smaller T series differential. If your Celica has a T (6.7") differential then the bigger Supra differential wont bolt up.

To install a Supra differential on a Celica that came with a 6.7" diff I would recommend you swap the crossmember from one out of a Supra. This procedure has the added benefit of adding four wheel disc brakes to your car (if not already so equipped).

To determine what kind of differential your car is equipped with, See: Toyota Differential Codes.

For instructions on swapping an MA6x rear end into an RA6x Celica, See: How-To: Supra Rear End Swap.

No.

Do I need an adjustable cam sprocket?

If you have shaved the head, Yes. If not, its still just a good idea. You can shave the head a very small amount and still have the engine run. But anytime you shave the head you will alter the cam timing. This will lead to poor performance and/or engine problems.

You can get adjustable cam sprockets in single and dual row design from LC Engineering or OldMage. Personaly, I recommend OldMage.

Where can I get a body kit for my 82-85 Celica?

Where can I get a body kit for my 82-85 Celica?

There are three known retail sources for body kits. Kaminari, Erebuni and Mitcom. You can buy Kaminari and Erebuni kits from their web sites. Mitcom kits are a little harder to find.

You can also get body kits custom made, if you have the money.
