the freeway emergency update...

traffic's a &$#*% in a car that sat for awhile...

had the tools, got to work.

ripped the fan off

dismantled it

now drill a hole through one of the holes on the flywheel

if you really had to you could steal the nut on the EGR valve intake mount and this bolt from the carb.

use the nut from the EGR to space the bolt from the carb, tighten the shit out of it.

remove the studs

use 4 fender bolts to bolt the fan to the locked fan clutch

bolt the F'er on

drive it home

yeah i hate that stupid thing.

thats why i have craftsman wrenches when i need open ended wrenches.

i use the closed end on that set for tight spaces

Are you talking about the one that can be seen in this pic?

They are only meant to be turned in one direction, and I haven't had problems with them when I remember to turn them only that way. :wall:
Then again, I don't have a set of them, so I don't have to worry about it.

ya im talking about those ones.

the main problem with em is you cannot break anything loose with the open end, and its just dumb.

nifty waste of time idea that got somebody a promotion, and a trip to hawaii.

the newer tool kits dont have those wrenches, i even sent a letter to cresent...
