I'm pretty sure welding spring steel is a no no and search all your awnsers can be found

Putting spring steel on it is good because it will flex and not break. U prolly suck at welding.  Once the tags run out im driving it to the junkyard.  These cars rot away so easyily.  Good luck finding parts

Spring steel becomes very brittle after welding, and probably won't provide much in the way of reinforcement. Just go down to the local hardware store and pick up a steel bar to do the job.

Just keep an eye out, you will find some good ones, I'm dead into the rust belt,our cars see more winter conditions then summer and I managed to find a complete rear end for $400 it's solid all the way through and it's an lsd with 4:10s

I've scoured the net with little success. Maybe i'm just NTFS. Here's what happened to my passenger side...
