About the stock amp for the stock sub, I don't think it throws out much power at all, if you have a halfway desent receiver (50 watts per channel or something around there) you would be better off just bypassing the stock amp because the receiver will throw out more power anyway.

hey guys, lets just do REAL subs. hell an 8" in a cracked sealed enclosure is better than the stock sub and amp. i could probably do a nice sub and amp combo for 200 more or less. mind you thats with a 12"

I have an 8" rockford fosgate in back and that is plunty for me, it gives me some good back massages  :D .  The tiny 4" is really a joke, especially since it came in the PREMIUM sound system.  Well I guess almost if not all stock sound systems, even premium, are crappy compared to aftermarket.
