If you want a good shock for the money get the KYBs adjustable they are really good and have four adjustable settings and you can tell the diference in all of them i used to have koni adjustable(the real ones with the top nob) a long time ago and the KYBs are just as good,go to classic garage.

I am thinking that if I can not find adjustable rear shock for my gt-s I'll just go with non-adjustable shocks. I really don't see a reason to have adjustable front shocks and non-adjustable rear ones....but if there is a good reason let me know.

The illuminas are really good in just about any car you put them in. As far as changing the struts goes, it's pretty straight forward. Undo the lower ball joints and steering arms, and unbolt the brake lines. the spindle is part of the strut housing on our cars. Take the springs off just like a normal strut and them un screw the nut at the top of the strut pistons. After you get the nuts out of the way you can just pull the cartridge out of the housing. Pretty simple. By the way , I don't want to rag on anyone, but you guys have got to stop buying those shitty haynes and chilton manuals. You can get the factory service manuals for just about every car ever produced. These are the manuals that are sent to the dealers service department right before the vehicle comes out. These other companys out there are just too vaigue.

Sounds simple enough, Thanks flyingbrick.  Anyone know where I can find a Toyota Factory Manual (FOR CHEAP!!!!) I don't want to spend 80-100 on a manual.

Btw, Since the spindle is part of the strut housing, I dont need to take the brake disc off just unbolt the brake lines, correct?

Yeah I would get a Toyota Service manual but I don't feel like paying over $100 for the thing. And so far I have not found any other place to get it besides the dealerships.

Ebay has them. I got one for my 85 Celica for $25. I sold one for a 1982 Celica on there also. About 6 months ago.

I beleive that when I got mine I contacted helm publishing thinking that they pretty much wrote everyones manuals. This wasn't the case though, they gave me the number to call at toyota to get the manuals. I'm pretty sure I paid about $60.00 or $70.00 for the service manual and the electrical manaul with three day shipping. I'll try to get the phone number for you guys. You really need the factory books every car you plan on working on. It's worth the money with the time you will save.

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question. Yeah you can just unbolt the rubber brake line from the metal brake line and take the whole thing out like that. I personally wouldn't recomend it because of all the added weight of the unit while trying to work on it. It seens like it would be a pain in the ass.

Would anyone object to my purchase?  I think that suspension should be the first upgrade for any car, but thats just me... <_<

Hey man, suspension and brakes are always the first things. Nobody wants a fast car that can't  handle or stop.

The Toyota Manuals are only about $65, but they are well worth every penny.
The Toytoa Manuals are great but I have found it lacking in some areas, plus some pics that are wrong. But overall you need to buy one, every Dealership can get them, but some dealership give youu a hard time or tell you they can not get it, thats just bullshit.
