86-88 or 87
i forget
wuz in pickups too
any 22re 'lazer' block can be modified to work
just drill thru the block for the oil tube
piece of cake, the block is all set up for it

here's a email off the toymods list today about
mr2 vs supra turbos

Supra CT26 has a larger compresosr wheel, same A/R
compressor housing (as far as I know)

Identical turbine wheels

Supra exhaust housing has considerable larger A/R
ratio

Stock Mr2 250 rwhp max
stock Suprra 325-350 rwhp max (best guess)

Its mainly because of teh exhaust
housings. No matter what anyone has done to teh
compressor side of the CT26 no one has gotten reliably
past 280 rwhp because of a restrictive exhaust
housing.

If you put a Supra exhouast housing on an MR2 you can
cross teh 300 rwhp "barrier" but will have a fairly
laggy turbo because of the larger A/R.

i seen 350 hp turbo 22re's
and 750 hp 22re's

Those trucks are pretty rare though. I've only recalled seeing one turbo 4Runner and one turbo PU. And the engines are even harder to find.

Yeah they were prone to turbo failure. I know some people swapped out those engines.  I believe there is a truck on Ebay right now, located somewhere in Florida

That's a really good deal for a long block. Even better that it's a turbo engine. If you want to build a turbo engine. You need a turbo block and head. I'd have to know what kind of internal parts he puts in them. But it still sound like a really good deal. Might be worth checking into.

All long blocks come with cylinder head(s) attached and valve train installed. Valve covers, timing cover, intake manifold and oil pan are not included.

All long blocks have NEW valves, valve springs, valve keepers, push rods, rocker arms, fulcrums, lifters, camshaft, timing chain (belt), timing gears, valve guides (diamond honed), three angle seats, cam, rod and main bearings, pistons, piston rings, rod bushings (if applicable), gaskets and oil pump.

All cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts and connecting rods are cleaned and shot peened and magnafluxed for cracks. All bolt holes are tapped.

Cylinder blocks are bored to each piston and diamond honed to 18RMS finish. All oil galleys are hand brushed with white cleaning brushes and cylinders are hand cleaned with cleaning solution and white towels.

Cylinder heads have each valve guide diamond honed, seats are three angle. After assembly, heads are vacuum checked for valve seating.
