I ordered seat belts from A2O.  It took a little work and waiting to get them but they have arrived.  The drivers side is a little weak retracting, nothing I can't adjust, and was missing the cover on the top mount.  That aside, they were bought for function, and do that.  Communication could have been better in this deal.

Thank You A2ndOpinion.  I apologize that this went the way it did, but am glad it worked out.

Trog

P.S. Thank you to all who helped get this deal finalized in a civil manner.

First off, my deepest apologies for taking so long! It seems every time I turn around to grab the seat belts, something else comes up. Then I pass a post office and realize I still don't have them.

Have a nice day!  :P

For those who would like to know what the BBB has against me...

Some guy received my name from a shop to have me do a mechanical damage report for him to help him get his warranty to pay his claim. I went and looked at his truck, the removed heads, the leaking water pump, the leaking (IIRC it was a cracked manifold) exhaust, and the valves that were not seating properly and were causing a loss of compression... Zoomy took a shitload of pics too.

The warranty company refused to pay the claim because their inspector said the failure was caused by carbon build up.

What I saw were valves that were not seating due to heat (his H2O pump had been seeping for some time and the exhaust was leaking), and pitting (carbon, poor fuel causing impurities to deposit...), and lean and rich mixtures because of the exhaust leak, heat, and partially clogged injectors.

I wrote his report up numerous times, but each time he said, "No, the warranty company will deny it because ______ (water pump, exhaust manifold, O2 sensor, fuel deposits, clogged injectors...) is not covered on my policy."
I finally gave up and told him I couldn't help him. I hadn't charged him a dime, but he got pissed and notified the BBB because I didn't complete the deal!
He hadn't even paid me one %#!&ing penny!

About three months later, an attorney called me and said that this guy was trying to hire her for his case and she should contact me for information. I explained the above to her, and she said she was not going to take his case.

Then I called the shop where his truck had been, and they said he came back to them with a problem not directly related to the repairs they did, but he insisted that they take care of it!
I believe they did the repair, refunded him some money, and told him to never return. :wall:

I am not a member of the BBB because they want about $500 a year for a membership that will not bring me any more business anyway.
Talk to other small (one or two person sized) businesses about the BBB and see what they say!
I did respond to the BBB, but they wanted more and more info and hounded me for membership, so I gave up.

I think this is done, but I won't lock it so Trogdor can edit the original post when the seat belts DO arrive.

Anybody else touches this thread, and I'll delete the post, GOT IT??!!??!! :whip:

I won't lock until A2O has a chance to edit anything he'd like, and PM me when he's done any editing he'd like.

In light of my PM conversations with OldMage regarding this thread, I am retracting my original post, as there was some misunderstanding on my part of what the reasoning behind closing the thread may have been. Now that I understand his reasoning, I don't see the need to leave up the original post.

I think you can go ahead and lock this thread right now! I will tell you that Steven gave this tool to us ALL to use!

Who said that it wasn't for us all?

If someone is unhappy, then so be it! Never threaten to close a thread if you don't have all the facts!
Neither Mage or I threatened to lock the thread before the facts were all laid out. Mage even said that he was going to wait until both Bob and Trogdor worked things out.

I'll open another, and I'll chat with the owner of this website if that's not good enough for ya! Favoritism is a bad thing when things are corrupt. I think our government gives us enough of that! Our Mod's don't need to add to it!

If you'd be so kind as to point any favoritism going on in this thread, that'd sure be nice.

The complaint was fair, and so is the reply. Let them hash it out, and post the results, but do NOT get in the middle and threaten the rest of us with closing the thread if they talk bad about one or the other of the guys here, unless you can PROVE otherwise that they don't have a legitimate complaint. Remember Zep?

And that's exactly what we did. Please to be staying out of a thread that was neither directed nor involved you in the first place. This was a thread between Bob and Trogdor that *should* have been sorted out through PM's, but it didn't. Anyone else adding to the thread creates confusion.

Iron fists work in some situations, but this one is NOT a good one to get involved in. If you don't believe me, just ask! I'll be happy to provide you with all you need. Don't put yourselves out there in a bad position, unless you're tired of being Mods. :whistling:

I can same the same about you buddy, you're posting in a thread that is not related to you at all.

And now I'm, pissed that you made me post this!! Now you have MADE me step into a situation I didn't want to!!

Thanks guys! NOT!! Be sure when you mess with a member, that they know their rights! :(

Nothing MADE you post this, except maybe pig headed stubborness and the wish to be noticed. As for rights, you should read the forum rules. Everyone agrees that when they join the forums that moderator decisions are final. If you have a problem with the way the forum is run, I don't see anyone keeping you here.

Check your PM, Matt (and Teranfirbt).  Anyone else w/ a specific transaction involving Bob (A2ndOpinion) may open a separate thread in this Feedback section.  This thread is for Trogdor & A2O to deal w/ this transaction.  It's been concluded.  I figured I'd let A2O edit any of his posts (if he wishes) and I'd lock it afterward.

My understanding of Feedback pertains DIRECTLY to financial or barter transactions with another member of this forum community.  Any other disputes/arguments/etc do NOT belong here (IMHO).

The only "Iron-fistedness" I wielded was to keep others not involved in this transaction from GETTING involved.  This is NOT the "Member-Bashing" section of these forums.  As I said privately (and YOU have forced me to say again), if anyone else wants to jump in on a Bob-bashing spree, they'll have to open their own feedback thread w/ their own experience pertaining to an actual transaction.

Positive feedback can be a free-for-all, but negative feedback had better stick to the FACTS of the dispute.  Even Trogdor can attest that all I removed from his original post (which I saved) was his name-calling (which would've served only to make things worse).  And, yes, I added the comment that the ominous "BBB complaint" could easily be anything other than A2ndOpinion Vehicle Inspections being a long-running fraud.

I was being objective.  NOT taking sides.  I just got done w/ an eBay dispute w/ someone very emotional and irrational.  I stuck to the facts and got them to settle down while we waited on the shipping to work itself out.  I will remember not to do business w/ them again, even tho things worked out fine in the end. (hint... hint)

Trogdor - the cover on the top mount - that's the "hinged" cover, isn't it? They were both intact when I took them off. Let me know specifically, and I'll get another one, as there are more here. You got about the best overall I thought. I want any and everyone to be as close to 100% satisfied as possible in all I try to do!

I had edited mine out, and said all I wanted to.

Like I said, .

Time flies, and before I realize it, a couple days has become a couple weeks -
Quote
First off, my deepest apologies for taking so long! It seems every time I turn around to grab the seat belts, something else comes up. Then I pass a post office and realize I still don't have them.
:wall:

For example:
Tonight - I go to pick up and drop off a couple of engines - just simply drop off a bone stock one for one guy, and pick up a modded one for the performance parts and some other stuff from another guy, all at this other dude's house. We get out to the guy's buddy's place (the dude) at about 8:15 for a simple transaction. The guy starts to make a big deal out of part of it, but we check everything out and realize all is well. Then the guy's buddy (the dude) shows up plastered out of his gourd, so much so that he has managed to piss himself, and has to be pulled out of his DD's Jeep! The third member of this exchange doesn't show up for another 15 minutes, and in the mean time, the drunk dude and his wife get into a fight! Finally the third guy shows up with his rod knocking 4Runner, and we spend another 1/2 hour going over stuff, and we finally get out of there at 10:00! That's almost 2 hours for a 15 minute job, and I still have a motor to build (yella'81), a carb to swap out (Zoomy), a motor to finish installing (Zoomy), and a report to finish writing (83GTCoupe), all for people on this forum. It's a 45 minute drive each way, and I haven't finished today's "normal" work (warranty claims) either!

That's the kind of crap that stops me from getting shit done! :wall:

I'm sure 85GTS, Nypher, Rydman313 and Zoomy would love to laugh and tell you all about the afternoon they were all here last month and I was supposed to be BBQing, they were all asking me questions, taking things apart, fixing things, wanting something, looking for something, whatever, and the charcoal is burning away to nothing while the meat is going bad waiting to cook!

Throw two teenage daughters on top of that -

And you want it when?

Have a nice day!  :P

To all of you - I really do want to help all of you with whatever I can, but I'll admit, I do have an issue with time management, and am also being pulled in many different directions most of the time.

In the near future, I hope what I'm about to offer works out at least 100 times better than what buzzbomber did, so/but please bear with me while I work it all out.

Brad, don't say a %#!&ing word!
