Interior Dying Writeup

Ok, So you want to change the color of your interior, or want to match a new part with your original. Whatever the case may be, I'll show you something you may want to know. I got this dash yesterday. It's maroon, and my interior is black. We'll fix that.



you'll want to scuff the surface. *dont use sandpaper* You will ruin the texture of your panel. I use a s.o.s wire pad whenever I do anything like this. A box of them can be had for under 3 bucks.. so its worth it. just gently scuff the entire thing.

I think the best results are seen after about 3 coats. I put 8 on mine today.

Yeah I have used the stuff before and it works very well as long as you do the proper prep work. It also does not last forever in a high-contact area (you can see where it is rubbing off on the door panel on mine). You also want to pay attention to what color you are using since I have found that the gloss black is not too friendly when it is sunny outside since it reflects up into the windshield.
