The FS looks like it would be the pick out of the lot. Looks like the old rally wheels used  on the imports back in the 80s

The FS 14s or 15s would look nice on our cars... any bigger than that and you are going with low pro tires, and those dont really look that great on a mk3 celica.

Someone made a post with a MA70 that had some low profiles that looked very good to me. I dont think the car would look bad with low profiles, however I think it would not looke good with 17s or anything better

Yeah, for me nothing bigger than 16in.  With some gc coilovers up front and custom springs in the back, fill that wheel well up right  :D celicasupra.com has a good resource of some current available aftertmarket rims. If anybody has more online sites, please speak-up.

:D I was able to find some rims on my ride like the other folks stated 16 inch rims are the way to go. I have on my ride 16x7.5 rims with 215/40/16 they do not rub, and have not cause any damage. The only thing  is make sure the rims are a negative 20mm offset, and you should have no problems.

Is there any way to post a site or pics of your rims? The info was great. Anybody know what limits we have for offsets, negative and positive?

Well I'm going to get new tires soon for my car. I looking at the Yokohama Avid S/T. In the reviews for this tire. I see one onwer was a 3rd gen Celica. And the other was a 85 Supra. Both gave this tire great reviews. Since my car is not a race car. This looks like a good tire for me. Also it is very cheap $46. It has the 2nd highest rating in this class of tires. It only 2nd to the Firestone Firehawk INDY 500. I don't see how Firestones is rated higher. Firestone has always been a bad tire IMO. Also the largest size for the Firestones is 215/60/14. And they are $60. So going with the Yokohama's.

you want at least 35" tires aired down to around 20 psi on the trails cuz of rocks
can go lower psi as needed for traction
these 31's leave a lot to be desired
bfg t/a's get good traction and break loose e z wen needed
but can be deadly on a dirt road with marbles at speed
skate around like melanie without her skate key...

'oh I got a brand new pair of rollerskates, you got a brand new key...'
you should get larger tires, dOOd
you need more ground clearance, there...

I like the Panasport wheels!

Does anybody have a known-to-work recommendation on a 15" Panasport (meaning is there an offset offered that works)?  In this case, I have an '85 GT (no factory GT-S flares).  I think a 15*6 would be about right for me.

It looks as if a 205-55/15 would be a good upgrade to the tiny stock 185-70/14.

I am assuming a wheel/tire combo as wide as the GT-S/Supra 225/60-14 won't fit on a regular GT...not that I'd really want a tire that wide on my daily-driver car anyway.

Also...

Another consideration for people shopping for new wheels and tires:  Brake size.  Big, open wheels tend to make stock brakes look really small.  I think the look of the GT and GT-S can handle big wheels (16" or 17") and low-profile tires but the brakes are so small that they would take away some of the cool factor from the wheels.

The GT-S/Supra 225/60-14 setup is seriously outdated, but it's hard to fault that look.

About those Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires:  I like them.

I recently put a set on my Chevelle (235-60/15 on a 15*7).  I assumed they would be junk* but I have been really impressed.  They were cheap, they look good, they are quiet, handle really well, and are great in the rain.  I've been driving on them all summer.

I may consider them for my Celica next summer once I get around to installing new wheels (see other post).

* I didn't have a lot of choice in that size, and I don't care for BF Goodrich Comp T/A, which seems to be the default tire for old American cars for no apparent reason.
