Wow. I've always wanted to do this. Had it all figured out in my head. Called it a "Coupra". Damn, had no idea that it wouldn't bolt on. That sucks. It is just as cool as I thought it would be though.

Well, it won't *bolt* on, but if you were careful about it I imagine you could, in theory, use a spot weld cutter to cut the welds from the forward subframe to the chassis on both cars. It would be a more time consuming process to cut them, but it would make up for itself when reassembling, and IMO you'd be much more likely to end up with a quality product vs a hack job.

A friend of mine fixed his Capri this way after an accident. He drilled the spot welds and removed the whole front of the car. Replaced it with a good donor. When he was finished you couldn't tell it had been done. Or at least I couldn't. Looked like new.
