question:
to get rid of the watermarks, do you have to sand down the wheel?
I have a similar issue and woudl hate to sand down the face as I kind of preffer the originall machine finish marking on the face of the rims (as per the attached close up)
if you now of any other solution not required sanding please share.

try a fine polish like plastic polish or head light polish on a small area and see how it goes. If it works you can have it clear powder coated.
