Ok. Im not the only one uses a phone to get one but I use my phone more than most. I know A2nd has an Iphone so Idk how his works. mine is just a basic mobil internet nothing special. When I view this forum its a very basic format. All I can do is reply/ start new threads.

The last time you had to enter a code you were using an IP that had a threat level of 19. Someone else had that IP just two days ago and used it to send spam (probably someone with a trojan on their computer).

Bumped up the thread threshold a little higher, to 20. Let me know if you keep getting this problem.

I've attached a screenshot of the report for that IP so you can see what I'm talking about.

Apparently I don't have any problems - Steven?

No the IPs you've used are golden, never used for spam.

If you look at the site on a real computer, you can see the IP that you make each of your posts through, down in the bottom right corner above your sig.

Well it's looking like 20 was the magic number. More people are getting through, but lots of particularly bad IPs have been completely locked out.

72 IPs so far have been completely denied entrance to the forums. Only 42 spammers have attempted to register in the last 13 hours and 45 minutes. And all caught by our normal spammer filter and held in member purgatory until I feel like mass deleting their accounts.  :spiteful:

what i meant is what it says in that box, is that what my phone used to connect?

if you want to put it back to 19 you can that way you wont have as many get through. no biggie for me to answer the questions, kinda annoying but if it will make you feel better then do what you would like.

on the phone ip tip:

if you are set to end a session or use any available connection then your IP will change every time you connect.  your ip can also change by connecting in a different location (beaverton then portland)  so it will renew in the new location.

and there are only a finite amount of ip addy's out there, in a pool on a first come first serve basis.  they are all tied to the local server for identification, but you will find similar ip ranges on different servers.  so adam having a ip thats black listed is not a surprise,  using a phone is almost better then a proxy server to change your ip.  its almost like it was designed to help/aid trolls and spammers.

i was having some issues with my blackberry and authentication on my web site.  was doing some research and stumbled upon that bit of info, wish i could remember what i googled to get that.

thanks for the tip on the new spam software, gonna go load that up myself ;)

ps: steven are you ever gonna use those post icons i made? :cross:

Umm, maybe you should look around a bit and find the proper place to post your ad?

Oh, and BTW, it's beautiful.
