What rpm does your car idle at???? and what should it???

Shaved intake plenum
Relocated Fuel Filter
Modded Throt. (no cruise)
1mm O/S valves
Stage 2 Cam
Rebuilt Head
40 Overbore
Rock pistons
Ground & Polished Crank
Resized rods

Mine idles at 1000 rpms,i think for 84 and older its 700rpms and 85 and on 750 on stick shifts.

for the 85 gts its 700rpm.. and its suppose to be 700rpmg, thats wat it say under the hood..

Mine happens to idle where ever it wants, whenever it wants... sometimes it will idle all day at a perfect 800 rpm, others its at 500, and some days its even at 1200.. stupid idle control valve >_<

700-800 is good on all celicas from that generation (and most cars in general)

I don't get why guys increase their idle... its just makes them waste more gas... having a higher idle might help with a better launch but i don't think wasting twice as much fuel is worth it..

well I noticed a sucking sound in that black valve and the back right of the EFI.......the top connector has nothing going to it.....its making a sucking sound......but in all the diagrams I have found theres nothing that attaches to it!!!!! so what am I missing???????

put your finger over it and see what happens. Sometimes the cover will dry rot and fall off. Its like a little black rubber cap

yeah......well when I was first trying to get my car going before it ran right every time I covered it you could just hear the revs go down!

I think the parts stores sell the plugs, but some people do it the cheap way and cut some hose and plug the end with a screw

LOL thats what i did with my AE86. I had to do it like 4 times on that car.
