Forum upgrade comming - Please test it
« on: Mar 18, 2012, 08:33:35 pm »
I'm going to be doing a major forum upgrade (to SMF 2.0) soon. This will change a lot of how the back end of the forums work. Any customizations I've made to the forums will be lost, and I cannot remember what all I've customized so there will probably be a couple broken features.

Test it

I would appreciate it if you guys would test the new forums for me. Log on, make sure everything works, try to break it, spam it, whatever.

http://test.celica-gts.com/forums/

This is a completely separate copy of our forums from a backup, and will be deleted when I'm satisfied with the install. So don't worry about breaking it or spamming useless crap in main forums.

What I'm looking for:
  • Broken stuff
  • Can't log in
  • Can't register a new account
  • Browsing searching slow
  • Lost images/avatars
  • Quirks/settings that may be wrong
  • Posts not showing up right
  • Lost profile info
  • Unable to post to some forums
  • Etcetera

Recommend a design

It is also incompatible with our current theme so I'll need to find a new one. I am taking recommendations for new themes. You can see what's available here:

The Red Shadow theme on page 6 is close to the theme that you are using now.

So far so good. I've got to test and make sure all of the mods still work properly but right now everything seems okay.

No hard date on when I'll do the upgrade yet. No sooner than next weekend, maybe the week after.

Testing in EVE Online's in game browser (modified google chrome) and the only thing I notice so far is that some of the smilies don't work.
