mud flaps aren't really exciting.  I extended them past the fender a bit for better stone protection.  pretty simple.

However, I also fabbed up a quick camera mount.  It gets sandwiched between the dome light and the roof using 3 of the dome light screws (back 2 and driver side front).  I did a quick test video and there's no shake at speed on rough roads, though I will see how well it really works on gravel at the rallycross in 3 days.  With the wide angle view on my Contour and where its placed, I can see out the front half of the door windows, the entire instrument cluster and it just barely catches the side of my head in the shot.

That is a Contour Roam - Contour just released the Roam2, which isn't very much different, so you should be able to pick one up relatively cheap.  A quick Amazon search shows them going for $129, whereas they were $199 before (I picked mine up new for $86 last xmas with a killer coupon discount).  With the Contour, any programming needs to be done with it connected to a PC, but to start recording all you have to do is slide the button forward.  It only takes about 1 second to start, records in HD (@ 30fps) & is waterproof to 1 meter without a case.  They also have some pricier models that let you bluetooth out the video to a smartphone or are GPS enabled.

I popped the Celica's cherry at the rallycross yesterday.  The BFG Radial T/As did alright considering the course had a lot of "wet-cement" mud and ruts deep enough that the oil pan had to plow through it all.  The engine's torque worked well in the mud, but it definitely needs a bit more pony-power to get up to speed.  A nice skid plate and tow point on the front are also on the short list now - my first main goal was to NOT get stuck & pulled out by one of the sweep team that showed up, my second main goal was to not need to install my spare oil pan.  My photog friend said I was getting air a bit on some of the back stretch, honestly, I couldn't see well enough through the grime on the windshield at points to know it shouldn't have been pegged ;)

I recently traded a sticker for an old Corbeau Forza seat, today I sorta kinda got it installed.

I attached some shallow channel to an extra pair of seat sliders that I have - the channel is welded and bolted to the sliders so it's pretty solid

bolted that to the seat

and bolted the seat into the car

Then I took it all out of the car and put the original seat back in.  The upright seating position is OK, except my head is still hitting the roof - I was hoping this seat would drop me low enough to gain a bit of head room.  AND, the stock 3 point seat belts wouldn't work very well will the high bottom bolsters, too much space between me & the lap belt (that could be fixed by feeding the buckle through one hole and the belt through the other).  So I think I may sell this seat & go on the hunt for a good reclining seat or maybe something else . . . mainly looking for something with a bit more side support

I'm about 5'11' - if the seat was reclined just a bit more it'd be fine.  Good seats pop up on CL every now & then, or I might find a decent set of something in the junkyard one of these weeks.

yeah.  I'm still trying to figure out how I want to get rid of it.  This is probably the best write-up I've seen so far, and the direction I'd like to take: http://www.celicasupra.com/forums/showthread.php?52943-Sunroof-to-Hardtop-Project . . . just need to build up the courage to to take a saw to the roof and get it done.  I already have the hardtop cross brace for the roof when the time comes.  My only question is if they glued the panel in first or tacked it and then glued it?  I guess it would have to be tacked first to avoid destroying the sealer.  Then use something like windshield urethane, more as a sealer, before making it look pretty on the outside.

I guess that makes me a little glad that I don't have a sunroof in my car, I'm 5'11" as well.

dang the sun roof makes that much of a difference? Cuz I was gunna say i'm 5'8" and I definitely have more head room that 3 inches. I was wondering if for some reason your bucket seat was much higher. Maybe you should also check into bucket seats that mount from the side, I think that would allow you to mount the seat a little lower.
