For OEM naca ducts look no further than a 280zx. 79-83. They are functional too. And well made.

I've used those in the past, as well as the 280Z flat hood grill/vent, but they're getting to be harder to find.
T-bird turbo coupe hood vents used to be a favorite of mine as well (used as a scoop on the turbo chicken)
eBay has a whole slew of NACA ducts ( <-link) that could be made to work.
The thing about NACA ducts though, is that they offer no real advantage, that I've read about, as a vent.  As a scoop, yes, they can take in air without adding drag, but no real "vacuum" effect as a vent.

BTW - July 22nd is Portland Cars and Coffee JDM day.  Not sure, but I might bring the Celica out.

I was thinking something like this near the sides of the hood where water won't dump on anything moisture sensitive

Yea, whatever fits your needs for venting. I think you can flip a naca duct around so that the narrow end is pointing downstream to create a vent effect, but not much reason to when there is positive pressure on the other side. Probably why you still see race cars use traditional louvers when venting.

Terran should pipe up, this was his field I thought or at least he studied some fluid dynamics

That looks like the one: http://row52.com/Vehicle/Index/JT2RA65L0E0006097

On a side note, the thing is already fairly well stripped.  Suspension, fenders, flares, and engine are (or were) still there.  Nypher got the dash and radiator (as well as a bunch of other stuff) while I was there

The crazy thing is, we could've gotten most of this stuff for nearly free and likely helped this guy out.

Well fawk.  I started removing some mangled metal today to prep for a bash bar install (so I can mount my Corrado bumper).  It's been mangled since I bought the car and never thought much of it.

This is what it should look like

This is what mine loos like after I drilled all the spot welds holding the mangled metal on

The front cross member isn't even attached on the driver side.  I can push on the frame rail with my foot and see it move
So the next project is a custom front cross member made from 2"x3" .080" thick rectangular tube (stock metal is only .045"), new lower radiator mounts, caster rod mounts, and new skid plate (all that stuff is tied to the front cross member).  That'll also give me a chance to make a much more stout bash bar mount

So it was the cause from previous damage or all celicas look like that when you remove the outer sheet metal in that area?

corax's car looks like that because of crash damage prior to him getting the car I assume

This is all accident damage from before I got the car.  The metal from the crossmember which overlaps the top & bottom of the frame rail was torn from day one.  Today I'm gonna take that same metal piece off the other side (no damage), so I'll see how it's supposed to be attached.

oops, something fell off the front of my car (after many spot welds were drilled)

so this is kinda my main issue in this project - the frame rail has a pretty good crease in the side of it and the top is bulged up where I need it to be flat to weld the crossmember in

but some progress was made today anyway - there's no way for me to get the crease out of the frame rail, but the new crossmember will bridge it and provide rigidity, front of both frame horns were cut off as well.  I didn't really plan it, but the sheet metal to either side of the radiator opening follow the new piece almost perfectly - about 1mm gap on the side which isn't mangled.  Still need to add some gussets front & rear as well as the piece which sits on top of the frame rail.

If you wanted to get rid of that crease, I would cut a 2x4 down to fit inside the frame rail, with a bit of an angle on the end to force out the crease gradually. Ideally the angled part would have a piece of 1/8"+ thick flat stock on it to give it extra strength. Then just hammer it in. In the worst case scenario, it fails, but is stuck in the frame rail, so you cut off the 2x4 at the end of the frame, and then drill holes in it with a spade bit until its in pieces small enough to pull/vacuum out.
