Paint's coming along nicely. The first 2 coats were trash, mostly because I tried applying them in direct sunlight when it was in the high 80's/low 90's outside, so it flashed over quickly and didn't level out much at all
3rd coat was much better after a bit of sanding and thinning it with mineral spirits - the learning curve isn't too steep, I think I have it figured out fairly well at this point. Interlux recommends their specific thinner, but says you can use mineral spirits (their 333 thinner, which isn't available in all states, is pretty much a 50/50 mix of naphtha and kerosene). I think 1 more light sanding with 400 grit to get rid of some of the deeper sanding marks and a final coat will have it done
not a bad reflection for using a foam roller outside with a light breeze and pine trees nearby
