Damn that sunset picture of sick. Love those SCs, too. Awesome platform.. I wish we'd have gotten them branded as Toyo Soarers here, though. They hold a crappy stigma as having shithead drivers around these parts. Bunch of Lexus bozos. But man are they sexy.. and equipped with such a good powertrain, too. I worked on one the other day that had a million warning lights on the dash but was like 280k miles and started and ran good it seemed like.

Yeah my sc is actually a super competitive pro/am car. It looks kind of missled out after 2 seasons of competitive drifting but it's undergoing a face lift right now, paint and body work. I got it as a pretty stock 1uz car. It now has a 1jz vvti motor with an FD spec cage and all the suspension goodies you can think of. My wallet isn't happy though. I really wish we had gotten them as soarers. 1jz and r154 from the factory would really have set them apart from the rest of the competition of the time.

I used the 1uz with a 75 shot of nitrous and after enough wear and tear my intake camshaft retainer on the passenger side cylinder bank dessintegrated lol. In all honesty the 1uz is garbage for competive drifting. Too small a power band makes mistakes impossible to recover from. However, it is a very good engine for almost any other application if you have deep pockets (cams, headwork, supercharger?). The 1jzgte vvti is just an all around better engine in every category besides weight and weight distribution. It's high compression and beams (vvti only) architecture gives it an incredibly long power band, 2700 rpm to 7200 rpm for my setup. It's much easier and cheaper to make big power with the jz motors as well.

Damn that's a clean place. While reading your comments I kept reading 2JZ in my head, then saw the engine and went, "that's a 1JZ" checked comments and saw you said 1JZ. Just so common to read 2JZ I guess :heh: Personally I like the look of the 1JZ VVTi, has a really nice classy look.  Have you seen the new head design that Supra Sport made with Dual VVTi and Vtec?

I've heard that before about nitro on the 1uz. Good to know. Nigel and Smithers have run shots on there trucks, but I don't believe it's sustained high rpm since they are mudding and crawling.

Hey I wanna ask something, when you cut out the upper radiator support for the 2jz swap, what did you do with the wire harness that runs inside that area? Is it cleverly hidden inside?

Lol it's all good and no I haven't seen anything though I must admit I'm not too current on all the new hi-tech stuff coming out. That shop was a co-op type space me and some friends rented when I was in the army. It was pretty awesome and beat working in the barracks parking lot lol.

It was relocated engine side along the base of the radiator.

Here's a pic of the engine in its current state.

Here's another pic of the bay after the red was stripped from the valve covers.

I'm always surprised about how much room there is with a M or JZ motor.
