I used GIMP to do that, it seems to give results that look more natural and less obvious than some Photoshop stuff I've seen, even in the hands of someone with little clue how to use it, like me.  And it's free!

I think it will take a lot to make it look anything remotely like a Celica, but that's why I said have at it, more power to you
